Study Title: Identifying preliminary quality indicators of a psychology consultation-liaison service

Research Study: Seeking a Research Assistant to work 8-16 hours weekly (flexible re: days/times) on a project examining distress in medical trauma patients. Current quality improvement study is to explore preliminary quality indicators of a psychology consultation-liaison service (locally known at CUH as Behavioral Medicine) such as patient satisfaction, length of stay (LOS), and 30-day readmission rate.  In this investigation, we seek to answer better understand patients’ experiences with Behavioral Medicine. More specifically, we will assess patient satisfaction with care and whether and to what extent Behavioral Medicine impacted patient satisfaction with their overall hospitalization, and whether these variables are associated with LOS and 30-day readmission rates.

Competitive applicants will have research experience, be interested in working with a variety of patients in a medical setting, demonstrate maturity, timely responsiveness, professionalism, and be able to work independently. Our current RA will be finishing in June but will be able to orient you to all responsibilities and procedures; as such, ability to start in May to shadow current RA is ideal. RA will delegate recruitment efforts across Behavioral Medicine team and organize patient recruitment log.   There will be an opportunity to be involved in presenting at a national conference.
